Thank you very much for the sweet comments on the stockings!
I ordered some postcards soon after I wrote my last post, and I was amazed to find them in the postbox this morning! A few will be winging their way to Turkey, where I know my family will appreciate them for being my own photos, but I was wondering whether from a more objective point of view, you think these are professional enough to be sold in small packs. Maybe 5 for £5? I would like to sell packs with photos from each collection, mostly of knitting, with maybe some ‘nature’ shots thrown in; you can see a lot of them up on my Flickr Photostream.
Well, I have yet to win any, but giveaways seem to be all the rage in blogland recently. So if you chime in with your opinion in the comments, you will be entered into a giveaway when the website launches (very soon now!).
I think your photographs are lovely. :)
I think your photographs look great and make wonderful postcards.
Your photos are lovely but I don’t think I would pay for them, simply because I wouldn’t have use for them. However if they were made into notelet/cards or gift tags I would LOVE them. I would probably think about using the postcards in a promo capacity, i.e. if someone ordered something from you, you get a free post card included with the order, or to publicise the website buy leaving them in my LYS or favourite cafe/pub.
But again, I do like the images, they are VERY good.
I am so impressed with your photography skills. I just bought my first Nikon DSLR Camera for Christmas. I’ve been testing out the camera and I can only wish that my pictures were as professional like yours. How did you learn photography?
Excellent photos Derya! What camera/lens do you use for your shots? I’d certainly buy the cards (especially knitting related ones!)
I love your photos as well, Derya, but I’m like CraftyCripple above. I rarely use postcards these days although I greatly admire them. However I do think that yours look professional enough to sell and also would be great for you to use for promo purposes. I might purchase them if in a gift tag form though – would be great to add onto finished knit projects intended for gifting.
The postcards look high quality to me. If you hadn’t had said they were your own, I would have assumed you bought them. Unlike the previous poster, I love postcards. They are so much fun to send and receive.
Yes, I would buy them, but more likely if the knitting and nature ones were grouped seperately. They are lovely!
I think you should try it, maybe on an etsy site or something when you test it out :) Personally I wouldn’t use them as postcards as I tend to like to frame stuff like that and put it on the wall or give it to someone as part of a present (with a personal note on the back of the card).
very pretty! I too would be more likely to use them as notecards as opposed to postcards. Either way they’re a nice item for knit swaps too.
